NVCC Foundation Hosts the Fifth Annual Leadership Breakfast

April 2024

The annual Leadership Breakfast fundraiser at CT State Naugatuck Valley achieved a record-breaking milestone by raising $77,000 in its 5th year, with over 400 registered attendees. This significant achievement highlights the event's growing impact and support within the community.

Keynote speakers included Tamara Brown, Vice President, Sustainability and Community Engagement, LINDE, and The Honorable Maurice Mosley, Retired Judge, CT Superior Court, and Co-founder of Granville Academy. Jim O’Rourke, CEO, Greater Waterbury YMCA and NVCC Foundation, Secretary, will be honored with the NVCC Foundation Community Champion Award.

In addition to its fundraising success, the breakfast serves as a platform to raise awareness about our students and our campus, enhancing its visibility and promoting enrollment. By engaging a wide audience from the community, the event not only secures crucial resources for student support programs but also strengthens ties between the campus and its supporters.

The annual Leadership Breakfast is crucial in addressing student hardships and barriers to education, ensuring that funds directly support students through scholarships, mentorship programs, campus jobs, emergency funds, the student food pantry, and other essential resources. This approach highlights the event's significance in promoting student success and advancing educational opportunities at CT State Naugatuck Valley.
